You have seen the excellent The Loot, now see the magnificent trio delivering terrific kung fu in this great classic of the genre, which is the prequel to The Loot.

Fight 3: Phillip Ko Fei vs Norman Chu and David Chiang

As great as the finale of The Loot, the end fight is a mind-blowing spectacle. While Lau Kar Leung put emphasis on realistic martial arts, the choreographers of The Loot and The Challenger focuses on inventively 'cool' moves that are at once spectacular-looking and wire-free, unlike the fancy wire-fu work of Ching Siu Tung.

Yet another masterpiece of kung fu.

"A near flawless effort and arguably the greatest kung fu movie ever shot, DRUNKEN MASTER 2 is assembled from the collective talents of some of the genre’s greatest personalities. This is Jackie Chan’s final word on kung fu. It’s both a final bow to his original DRUNKEN MASTER days and a direct challenge to his peers.
...
Although having passed already passed his physical prime, Chan goes all out to prove he is capable of creating a dazzling martial arts performances as good as any from Jet Li, Donnie Yen or any of the other stars of the day. Time has proven this to be his last great screen fighting performance to match the best of his younger days."
- Mark Pollard

I am too happy to agree. I don't recount how many times I have watched this movie, so outstanding, so out-of-this-world the fight scenes are.

This is the best quality rip for this film I could find.

Fight no 2: Jacki Chan teams up with Lau Kar Leung against multiple ax-wielding henchmen.

"Lau’s ability to create pitch-perfect kung fu fighting sequences with creativity and a reverence for traditional martial arts is very apparent in the first half of the film. ...
Lau’s coup de grace is a massive fight pairing him with Chan against a huge mob of axe-wielding gang members. Even upon repeated viewings, this expertly staged melee is unbelievable. - Mark Pollard"

Fight no 3: Jackie Chan against korean stunt actor Pak Ho-sung and superkicker Ken Lo. Jackie Chan in drunken berserker mode, an absolute must-see.

"No one can deny that Chan pushed all of his considerable skills to their maximum potential. This is no where more apparent than in the final struggle with Ken Lo, surrounded by smoldering fires and crud machinery within a turn-of-the-century steel factory. Anyone who has studied Chan’s screen fights can see that he dances with his opponents to a precise rhythm. This allows him to stage fights at a pace that most Western stuntmen find impossible to replicate. - Mark Pollar"

The fights in this film are abundant!! And they are quite good, too. But the finale is something else. It's very lengthy, with the villain (Kwan Feng, who also played the villain in Monkey Kung fu) taking on the students one by one then the master (played by Hau Chiu Sing, who was the master of the monkey fist in Monkey Kung fu) then all 4 of them altogether. It must have taken tremendous efforts from the actors and action directors to make the final showdown so amazingly spectacular. It's simply is outstanding!! An absolute must-see.
But words fail me, so you just download and see it for yourself.

It's always a great joy to watch Lau Kar Leung (Liu Chia Liang) move. He always strikes with ferocious speed and deadly precision. He truly is an inimitable onscreen presence.

The force is strong with that one!!

Mark Pollard from Kungfucinema said:

"Lau himself is truly the master of real kung fu screen fighting and proves it in a magnificent duel with his favorite screen sparring partner Johnny Wang Lung-wei."

The Loot (1980) David Chiang, Norman Chu, Phillip Ko Fei

I know I said that David Chiang's performance in Shaolin mantis was the best in his career. That was before I saw The Loot. I was wrong. His best performance ever would be his role in The Loot, co-starring alongside Phillip Ko and Norman Chu. All 3 martial stars are excellent in this kung fu flick which features incredible fight sequences, spectacularly and elaborately choreographed, doused with a healthy dose of good humor.
David Chiang is really fast and energetic here and hilarious when doing his monkey fist. His execution of kung fu here is almost flawless, a hundred times better than in his earlier films.

The Loot is an excellent kung fu classic and you should buy the dvd if you call yourself a kung fu fan.

Thanks go to psychoper of Cinemageddon fame for this rip.
